Keeping the public informed during a terrorist attack is the goal of a series of scenario-based workshops called "News and Terrorism: Communicating in a Crisis."
Experts from the National Academies are providing reporters, state and local public information officers, emergency managers, and representatives from the public sector with frank, objective information about weapons of mass destruction and their impact. This project is being conducted in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation.
