NA-USIP Roundtable: Workshop on Adapting Agricultural Extension to Peacebuilding

The goal of this workshop is to surface which peacebuilding activities could be delivered as components of existing extension services and what organizational modifications and new capabilities would be required to do so effectively. The workshop comprises both morning and afternoon sessions. In the morning, we will lay out the problem, identifying both the issues that affect rural communities following conflict and examining the capabilities in and challenges facing extension and other advisory services in conflict. In the afternoon, the workshop will break out into smaller groups to determine what changes in training, organization, and technological infrastructure might be necessary to enable extension personnel to integrate peacebuilding methods into their day-to-day extension work.
