Real World Engineering Education call for nominations

News Date: December 13, 2011

The National Academy of Engineering invites nominations of engineering or engineering technology programs that have successfully infused real world experiences into their undergraduate program. Nominated programs will be reviewed by a committee and those chosen as model programs will be included in a printed guide to be produced by the NAE. Our goal is to provide examples of best practices that can be disseminated widely, so we are searching for programs that represent the broad geographic and institutional diversity of engineering education. There are no restrictions on the type of program nominated, within the following criteria:

  1. The lead institution must be an accredited 4-year undergraduate engineering or engineering technology program.
  2. The real world experiences program must have started operation no later than the fall 2010 semester.

We welcome nominations that include partnerships with other types of educational institutions, industry, or non-profit groups. Nominations are due Friday, January 20, 2012.

The nomination form is here https://fs3.formsite.com/casee/form52/secure_index.html but we recommend you review and compose your answers to the nomination questions prior to starting the online form.  Note the word limit on response to the first question is 500 words and responses to the other questions are limited to 250 words.
