CASEE Implementation Network Affiliation

The CASEE Implementation Network consists of academic, other non-profit, and industrial sites either engaged in pilot and large-scale implementations of educational innovations or willing to serve as testbed sites for such implementations. Through affiliation with CASEE they gain a mechanism to link with education researchers and evaluators who may inform and otherwise contribute to their efforts, to share methodologies and findings, to participate in a collaborative community, and to leverage their individual efforts. Additionally, affiliates are eligible for the placement of CASEE Senior and Post-doctoral Fellows at their centers. Affiliates may display the CASEE Implementation Network logo on their web sites and other documentation during the term of their affiliation.

An application for affiliation with the CASEE Implementation Network consists of a brief letter containing the following elements:

  1. Identification of the organization unit seeking affiliation (e.g., department, college, university, etc.). The name of the unit of affiliation will appear on the CASEE web site.
  2. The mailing address for the unit as well as contact information for the organizational representative. If applicable, include the unit’s web address.
  3. Indication of the number of students, faculty, and/or engineering professionals located within or hosted by the unit.
  4. Indication of the average time required for approval of a pilot or large-scale intervention (e.g., approval by institutional review board, curriculum committee, etc.).
  5. Indication of three or four challenges in engineering education with which you would like assistance. This information will be posted to our web site in order to assist CASEE Fellow applicants in developing their projects.
  6. Brief summaries of any on-going pilots or large-scale implementations.
  7. Indication of willingness to participate on mutually defined pilots or large-scale experiments and to allow the publication of results of such activities. You may request that the unit’s identity be appropriately masked in any publication to ensure confidentiality.
  8. Indication of the unit’s ability and willingness to provide an annual fee to the National Academy of Engineering Fund (TIN 23-7284092) in partial support of the administrative costs associated with managing the CASEE Affiliates Program.

Prior to initiating an application, an electronic mail message indicating interest in affiliation should be sent to Beth Cady, at <ecady@nae.edu>.
