Current Challenges in Engineering Education:
- Increase diversity of engineering graduates (reflecting the population demographics of California).
- Enhance retention of lower division engineering majors.
- Enhance the application of the four Boyer scholarship areas of discovery, integration, application, and teaching to engineering education as a means to demonstrate faculty professional development.
- Development of the ABET feedback path for program assessment across all disciplines to provide continuous improvement for the engineering education programs.
- Further development of the Project-Based Learning Center.
- Development of innovative programs that prepare engineering graduates for leadershpi positions in society.
