IWT was founded in 1997 by Dr. Anita Borg. The Institute's mission is to increase the impact of women on all aspects of technology and to increase the positive impact of technology on the lives of the world's women.

Building Engineering and Scientific Talent
BEST was launched in September 2001 as a public-private partnership to follow through on the September 2000 recommendations of the Congressional Commission on the Advancement of Women and Minorities in Science, Engineering and Technology Development.

Center for the Advancement of Hispanics in Science and Engineering Education
CAHSEE is an organization created by Latino engineers and scientists and dedicated to the advancement of Hispanics in science and engineering careers. CAHSEE's efforts are concentrated in preparing Latino youth to enter and succeed in science and engineering schools and to complete graduate degrees, and in mentoring young Latino scientists and engineers to assume leadership positions in Corporate America, academia, research government labs, and government.

Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Conference
The Mission of HENAAC is to enlighten the Hispanic community and the nation about the achievements of Hispanics in science and technology and to motivate and educate more Hispanic students to pursue these careers, thereby increasing the role that the Hispanic community plays in contributing to the nation’s status as a world technology leader.

Mentornet
MentorNet is The E-Mentoring Network for Women in Engineering and Science. MentorNet's mission is to further women's progress in scientific and technical fields through the use of a dynamic, technology-supported mentoring program, and to advance women and society, and enhance engineering and related sciences, by promoting a diversified, expanded and talented workforce.

National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering
NACME and its partners foster research-based changes in policies and practices that ensure equal opportunities for the preparation and participation of all Americans in science, engineering and technology.

National Research Council Committee on Women in Science and Engineering
The NRC CWSE coordinates efforts to increase participation of women in science and engineering. Since its inception, CWSE has published several reports and convened national conferences on women in science and engineering academic programs; women scientists and engineers in industry; and minority women in science, engineering, and the healthcare professions.

Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science
The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels.
