CASEE Affiliated Scholars
CASEE Affiliated Scholars are distinguished and well-recognized researchers in their fields able to provide continuing and independent advice to the CASEE Research Community and CASEE Implementation Network by virtue of their positions outside of these groups. Most typically, CASEE Affilated Scholars are individual researchers who are experts in domains other than engineering education research and closely related areas.
CASEE Affiliated Scholars serve on a continuing basis without remuneration.
A nomination for a CASEE Affiliated Scholar consists of an introductory cover letter, a current curriculum vita for the nominee, and a no more than four-page (single-spaced 12 point) statement addressing the following items:
- The nominee's awareness of the landscape of researchable issues within a given domain of knowledge,
- The nominee's ability to assist in the prioritization of such issues for their relevance to engineering education,
- The nominee's ability to synthesize what is known in their domain of expertise in such a manner as to inform and guide researchers on engineering education, and
- The nominee's ability to identify what remains to be learned within the domain that is relevant to engineering education.
Approved nominees will be required to indicate acceptance of the nomination, a willingness to serve in the capacity, and to provide some indication of how they foresee contributing new knowledge within CASEE's Research Thrusts as well as to the fulfillment of CASEE's Research Goals.
The original and twenty (20) copies of nomination are due by January 1 of each year and should be sent to CASEE Affiliated Scholar Nominations, NAS G-11, 500 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001
