As an assistant professor and Nicholas R. and Nancy D. Petry Professor in Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, Javernick-Will conducts research on project-based organizations in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. She is interested in global organizations and projects, knowledge mobilization networks, and disaster recovery and resiliency planning. Prior to entering academia, Javernick-Will worked for over six years in the construction and real estate development industry as a design-build project manager. She is an Assistant Specialty Editor of Organizational Issues for the American Society of Civil Engineering’s (ASCE) Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, a member of the Mortenson Center for Engineering for Developing Communities (MCEDC) Executive Committee, and a recipient of Engineering News Record Mountain States, ‘Top 20 under 40’ award and the American Society of Civil Engineering’s (ASCE) Excellence in Civil Engineering Education(ExCEEd) New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award. Javernick-Will is a member of ASCE, Engineers without Borders (EWB-USA), Construction Research Council, Construction Industry Institute’s Academic Committee and Global Community of Practice.
