The National Academy of Engineering wants to hear from a variety of stakeholders about the challenges and needs they face related to the implementation of engineering education at the K-12 level. This input will be used to inform development of an NAE website that will provide various materials and other supports to those engaged in precollege engineering education. Those with a stake in this issue include K-12 educators working in schools and after-/out-of-school settings; those who provide professional development to these educators and pre-service training to future teachers; and school, district, and state education leaders.

The NAE is partnering with four other organizations in this effort: Achieve, Inc.; National Science Teachers Association; American Society for Engineering Education; and International Technology Engineering Educators Association. The project is made possible by generous support from Chevron.

The agenda for this event, the second of three regional stakeholder meetings, is designed to give participants a strong voice in shaping the final website. Expect to be actively engaged throughout the day!

Questions about the project or your participation can be directed to Beth Cady (ecady@nae.edu) or Greg Pearson (gpearson@nae.edu).
