Amy Morriss graduated with a BS in Physics from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. After working several years in health technology, Amy left the field to focus on family. During this period she worked part-time as a research assistant at a structural engineering company. In 2012, Amy completed Indiana State University's Transition to Teaching program to become a physics teacher. Upon completion, Amy began teaching physics and physical science in a rural Louisiana public high school. Since then, Amy has transitioned to an all-girls Catholic high school in a New Orleans suburb, where she continues to teach physics and physical science and has added a two year engineering curriculum and a two year robotics curriculum to the STEM program. In this role, she coaches two FIRST robotics teams. Amy also works with the Engineer Your World program at the UT-Austin as a mentor for new engineering teachers.
