Angie Brayford earned her B.S. in Biology from Elizabethtown College in 2002. She conducted lung cancer research as a Research Technician II at Penn State Hershey Medical Center College of Medicine. Her research was published in Scientific Journal, Structure of Purine-Purine Mispair Formation by E.Coli DNA Polymerase I. She then earned her teaching certification from Alvernia University and has been teaching science and math at Shenandoah Valley School District since 2007. Angie is a Lead Teacher and STEM Mentor for the SHINE After School Program. The SHINE 21st Century After School Program strives to integrate STEM based activities that motivate and promote the careers of the future for students in grades 1-6. The SHINE Career Academy offers students in grades 6-8 motivating hands-on STEM activities that provide students with the opportunity to work alongside professionals in business and industry.
