Pamela S. Lottero-Perdue, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Science Education in the Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences Department, and Director of the Integrated STEM Instructional Leadership program at Towson University. She is also Chair of the Pre-College Engineering Education division of the American Society for Engineering Education. She includes engineering in her preservice early childhood science methods and elementary science content and internship courses, and has developed engineering education courses for middle school preservice teachers and elementary inservice teachers. Her most recent research focuses on how students respond to engineering design failures, and how teachers both respond to students whose designs fail and position what it means to fail in the classroom.
