Tamara J. Moore, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Engineering Education at Purdue University. Dr. Moore’s research agenda focuses on defining STEM integration and investigating its power for student learning. She is creating and testing innovative, interdisciplinary curricular approaches that engage students in using engineering to learn mathematics and science. Her research also involves working with educators to shift their expectations and instructional practice to facilitate effective engineering design-based STEM integration. Moore has completed a comprehensive study of NGSS and state-level science standards for the inclusion of engineering and co-wrote the NARST Engineering Position Paper for the Next Generation Science Standards. She was the 2010 Recipient of National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award and was awarded a Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering (PECASE) in 2012 for her work with underrepresented youth.
