Engineering Societies' Activities in Helping to Align the Needs and Goals of Industry and Academia

In the last of a series of workshops on the role of engineering societies in engineering education in the United States, the National Academy of Engineering held a workshop to (a) explore ways the societies can help better align engineering education with the needs of industry; (b) provide an opportunity for companies, institutions of higher education, and societies to share promising practices; and (c) investigate possible collaborative actions. The workshop took place December 6, 2018, in Washington, DC. This publication briefly summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop.
