Dr. Andrew Clark is Director of Programmes at the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering overseeing their enterprise, research, international partnership and sustainable development activities, which give grants totalling over $50 million each year to engineers around the world. He is a member of the board of the Engineering X Safer Complex Systems programme, a new international collaboration that seeks to bring together the world’s leading problem-solvers to develop and implement practical measures to improve the safety and resilience of complex systems, with £5 million funding from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation. Before joining the Academy, he worked at University College London, supporting the development of multidisciplinary research programmes. He has a doctorate in the philosophy of science and has taught at the University of Oxford and Open University.
