    I have a complete technology: What intellectual property restrictions do you have?
    A

    We allow you to control your own IP - the only requirement we impose is that you agree that the National Academy of Engineering can use, disseminate, and distribute your proposal. For ideas that are related to urgent, immediate, implementable solutions, we ask you to commit to apply the Open Covid Pledge (https://opencovidpledge.org/faq/.).     I have a complete technology: How do I get connected with high-level stakeholders?
    A

    Once your proposal is submitted to the Covid Strategy Interest Form, it will be reviewed by our Technical Screening Committee. After review, we ill be in touch regarding the next steps.

    I have a concept idea: How do I further develop my concept?
    A

    Make sure you’ve submitted your concept to the Covid Strategy Interest Form to be reviewed by the Technical Selection Committee.

    Reach out to your working group lead for assistance with developing your concept.

    I have a concept idea: How do I add more people to my team?
    A

    Visit the working group channel that is the most closely related to your concept. You can review introductions of channel members and reply to them or send them a direct message.

    I’m an interested individual, but I don’t necessarily have an idea (that’s ok!): How do I join the workspace?
    A

    Join the workspace by visiting this link

    I’m an interested individual, but I don’t necessarily have an idea (that’s ok!): I’m a student who joined the workspace, how can I find a team?
    A

    Make sure you’ve introduced yourself on the introductions channel.

    Peruse the 4 different working group channels, and identify which one best suits your interests and skill set. Once you’ve found the working group you’d like to join, you can reply to teams’ requests for additional members or post about your interest in joining a team.

    I’m an interested individual, but I don’t necessarily have an idea (that’s ok!): I’m an industry professional or professor, how can I help?
    A

    There are two ways to get involved:

    1. If you have an idea or existing technology that you would like to bring into fruitiation, do so by visiting this link.

    2. If you would like to get involved as a mentor to college students in this initiative, you can do so by visiting this link.

    I'm new to Slack - how do I use it?
    A

    Once you join the Slack workspace, head over to the #tech-support channel where there is a how-to video on the incubator workspace, which is also linked here! You can also use this channel to ask our Slack Admin any questions you have about using Slack.

    I submitted an abstract: How long should I expect to wait before I hear back?
    A

    We have multiple rounds of review, but you should get an intiial auto-response email as soon as you submit the our initial form on our website. 

    Please expect an email within 8 days of submission regarding your application status.

    The NAE is not a funding organization, but our program may be able to connect you with industry mentors and others who can help you finance your project.
