Heidi Carlone, Ph.D., is the Katherine Johnson Chair in Science Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. She is a former high school science teacher and current teacher educator and educational researcher who works to make science and engineering pathways more accessible and equitable for historically underserved and underrepresented populations. She co-founded the STEM Teacher Leader Collaborative (TLC), a grassroots network of 200+ elementary teachers who teach in urban and rural schools that serve high populations of underrepresented youth. Dr. Carlone received her B.S. in science education from North Carolina State University and her Ph.D. in instruction and curriculum from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
