Randy Atkins:  The President's case was made by a recent independent report cautioning that U.S. technological advantages are in danger of being outpaced by other countries.  Norm Augustine, former Lockheed Martin CEO, led the study.

Norman Augustine:  If we hope to have jobs in the future, we've got to compete and the way we compete is through innovation.

Randy Atkins:  But Augustine says we won't have enough innovators unless we do better at inspiring kids to pursue math and science.

Norman Augustine:  We have to motivate people to go into science and engineering and to stay there.  The proposals the President has made really address those issues.
