Bo Naasz is a NASA senior technical engineer leading the agency-level In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) and Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Capture System Capability Leadership Team (RPOC SCLT), and primary editor of NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate’s On-Orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (OSAM) strategic technology plan. His duties include stewardship, strategy, and advising agency leadership and projects on topics relevant to ISAM and RPOC. His background is in spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control, with a focus on navigation and control of multiple spacecraft and robotics for autonomous formation flying, rendezvous, proximity operations, and capture, and small-body terrain relative navigation and control. Mr. Naasz has more than 20 years of experience at NASA, where his contributions have been recognized in NASA medals for Outstanding Leadership and for Exceptional Engineering Achievement. A world leader in his field, he served on the American Astronautical Society Board of Directors (2015–18) and represented NASA on two National Space Council and OSTP Interagency Working Groups (ISAM and Orbit Debris Research & Development) in 2022. He earned BS and MS degrees in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech.
