The J. Erik Jonsson Woods Hole Center is operated year-round for the support of activities within the National Academies. The Center is available to the National Academies and to government groups and nonprofit organizations, as space is available, for the purpose of conducting conferences, meetings, and studies.
The area on Cape Cod known as Woods Hole has for years attracted scientists from across the nation and around the world. This hamlet, made up of scientific institutions, enables individuals from every discipline to meet, exchange views, and share common interests. With scientific notables in the area, the location of the Center is ideal.

Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center

The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center, Irvine, Calif., is owned and operated by the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering. This conference facility, which opened in 1988, was made possible by a gift from the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, and it serves as a meeting location for the National Academies.
The 48,000 square foot facility includes an auditorium, lecture room, board room, conference rooms, offices, and indoor and outdoor dining areas. The Center has excellent facilities to support both short-term and long-term committee meetings, workshops, conferences, and symposia.
Groups of varying size can be accommodated with ample room for plenary sessions, break-out areas for writing sessions, and dining and social activities. Elevators, ramps and designated parking spaces offer access for the physically challenged.
