Bethany Gordon: Almost 29 years ago, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake left their city in ruins. Homes and workplaces were destroyed.
Randy Atkins: Gordon says many people are still living in make-shift shelters and that virtual reality can be used to inspire action and worldwide brainstorming about solutions.
Bethany Gordon: I did virtual reality videos of interviews with several of the residents so that we could bring it back here to help even more people understand the issue and have even more engineers working on the problem.
Randy Atkins: Gordon points out the V-R is becoming very affordable and says it should be used more to share experiences from remote trouble spots. With the National Academy of Engineering, Randy Atkins, WTOP News.
