This initiative, completed in the first quarter of 2000, involved NAE members in extensive review of national K-12 standards for technology education. The standards were developed by the International Technology Education Association under funding from the National Science Foundation and NASA. The NAE Technology Education Standards Committee led the Academy's efforts on this project. A National Research Council committee, chaired by NAE President Wm. A. Wulf, also reviewed the standards.

The NRC committee's interim report and final letter report may be viewed online.
