THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER.
New and emerging science and technology innovations often appear to present unique and unprecedented challenges on their way to implementation in our everyday lives. But the ethical and political challenges they present are typically not new, however novel and “disruptive” those technologies may seem.
Join us this March at the Science History Institute in Philadelphia as we bring history to bear on the challenges of the present. Drawing on research tools used by historians and social scientists, we explore opportunities and methods that can enable audiences outside the lab to participate in discussion, deliberation, and decision making. After all, the future does not simply come to pass: it is imagined, anticipated, and built by us.
